Our History
Established in 2014, Patriot Aquatics counts 20+ year-round players, 50+ swimmers, 70 water polo players in youth level ages 7-14, and 80+ high school players.

2014 - SUCCESS FROM THE START
From our humble beginnings in 2014 with about dozen swimmers and a high school water polo team that counted around 20 year-round players, we have grown to a known aquatics club that now counts over 50 swimmers, 70 water polo players in youth levels ages 7-14, and 80+ high school players from all of Orange county.

2014 - 2016 - WE ARE A YEAR-ROUND PROGRAM
We were a small club that focused only on year-round water polo for High school boys and girls, and a small number of local community swimmers.

2017 - NATIONAL JUNIOR OLYMPICS
Coach Duje Grubisic came to the helm in 2017 with only 8 6th grader kids and were able to compete in National Junior Olympics that year and finished 9th in Classic division.

2017 - MEDALS AND TROPHIES
By the end of 2017 we grew to 3 teams 10U, 12U and High school, and started winning some medals that started with 12U group winning SPA Championship at the beginning of second season, and the year ended with high school group winning second place in Winter Holiday Cup.

2018 - GROWTH YEAR
2018 was a great growth year for Patriots where we fulfilled teams in all of our age group teams 10U, 12U, 14 U and High school and also started a girls program
First serious competitions have led to the improvement of our athletes that resulted in additional recognition by our peers and community and our athletes started winning many medals and tournaments we competed in.
This year ended well with Patriot's first medal in National Junior Olympics for our 16U team lead by Coach Duje.

2019 - EXPANDING
2019 was a great growing year for Patriots and by the end of the year we were in need of expanding to another pool for our 200+ athletes in various age groups in swim and water polo

Today the club has more than 70 players, including both boys and girls ranging in age from 8-15.

All of our competitive teams grew to compete at the highest Platinum level and accomplished great results year-round including our 10U team won 3rd place in Junior Olympics under coach Tijmen Egtberts and Jeff Hamlton.

2020 - YEAR ON HOLD DUE TO COVID-19
No player is turned away and there are different divisions of play in each age bracket.

2021 - RETURN AND REBUILD
After a year on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, 2021 marked the return of full-scale practices and competitions. The focus was on rebuilding the teams and fostering unity among the athletes, especially for those who had missed a year of competition. Patriot Aquatics bounced back stronger, and participation numbers grew steadily, ensuring the club remained competitive in regional tournaments.

2022 - BACK ON TRACK
2022 saw a resurgence in participation and performance. Patriot Aquatics teams returned to full strength, competing in several major tournaments, including the Junior Olympics. The club saw success at various age levels, with players excelling in both water polo and swimming. The 14U team secured a top-five finish at the Junior Olympics, and the girls' program continued to expand.

2023 - BUILDING MOMENTUM
Patriot Aquatics continued to build momentum with a focus on athlete development and team cohesion. The club expanded its training programs and saw an increase in membership, now boasting over 250 athletes across swim and water polo. The high school teams reached new heights, with the boys' and girls' water polo teams advancing to state-level competitions. The youth teams continued to perform at a high level, winning several local and regional tournaments.

2024 - CONTINUED SUCCESS
Patriot Aquatics solidified its place as a top-tier aquatics club in Orange County. The club’s teams competed at the highest levels, with multiple podium finishes in prestigious competitions, including the Junior Olympics.
