What are your billing policies?
We offer a mutl-athlete discount for families with more than one member currently on the team. Discount is 5% off two member dues, 10% off 3 member dues, 15% off 4 member dues and 20% off 5 or more member dues.
Do you offer a sibling discount?
Yes, we love to have our members recruit other new members. We offer a $100 tournament credit per new family that is referred and has joined the program. The referring family must have been a member for at least 3 months to qualify for this credit.

Do I have to participate in tournaments and/or Leagues?
We do not require participation in tournaments or leagues, however, that is one of the fun parts of water polo. Playing in games helps athletes to understand the game, build their game IQ, and establish team camaraderie.
How much do tournaments/leagues cost?
The costs for each varies and you will be notified of the cost when you sign up. The tournament/league fees are in addition to your monthly dues. Tournament/league fees are non-refundable and we do not pro-rate for missed days/games. Some of our tournaments are travel tournaments and will require overnight stays.
Do you hold practices in the rain?
Yes, we practice rain or shine. If there is lightning, we will pull athletes out of the water and wait 30 minutes. If the 30 minutes have elapsed without another lightning strike, then they will resume practice. If there is another lightning strike within 30 minutes, the delay will start over again from the last lightning strike.
What kind of equipment do I need to play water polo?
Our athletes are asked to bring goggles, a water bottle and a towel to our practices. We usually have a dryland component so athletic shoes are needed.
When can I order a team suit or speedo?
We hold apparel orders that include suits and speedos 2-3 times during the year. If you do not have a team suit, you may just wear a plain navy speedo or suit until you order the team suit.
When can I join the team?
Our water polo programs are year round and you may join at any time. Our program year begins in August and continues through July. In the Fall, we work on skill fundamentals and conditioning. As the year progresses, training will also progress to include drills and game strategy. Our training year is completed with Junior Olympics in mid to late July. There is a 2-4 week dead period after Junior Olympics where our players get some rest before the next training year begins.
Do you offer a trial period?
We offer a free two week trial for our Age Group Water Polo teams. When registering, please select “trial” as your billing group.
Does my child need to try out?
While we do not have prospective members “try-out”, our coaches will evaluate your athlete during the trial period to see if they require some additional training prior to joining the competitive groups. If additional training is needed, such as swimming skills, they will be asked to join our School of Water Polo program. They will be reassessed every month to see if they are ready to join the competitive groups.
Do I need a USA Water Polo Membership?
If you are new to water polo and are doing a free two week trial, please make sure you have registered through USA Water Polo for a trial membership. This trial membership is free and is required to practice with Patriot Aquatics. If you decide to join after your trial is over, you will need to update your membership with USA Water Polo. Here is the link to register: https://webpoint.usawaterpolo.com/wp/memberships/join.wp. Please look for Tustin-Irvine Patriot Aquatics (ID 23572) for the club name.
All returning members need to have a current membership. We recommend Gold for all members however, a minimum of Silver is required to participate in tournaments and leagues. Birth Date verification must also be completed through USA Water Polo.
